Andrea Petro Herrán (born March 29, 1991) is a Colombian economist and businesswoman. A member of the Petro family, she is the eldest daughter of Gustavo Petro, the 37th president of Colombia, and his first wife, Mary Luz Herrán.[1][2][3]

Born in Bogotá, D.C., she attended the Lycée Français Louis Pasteur while her father served as a Member of the Chamber of Representatives for Bogotá. Petro holds a degree in economics from the University of Aix-Marseille III.

She is the CEO of the Bachué Sportswear brand.

Early life, family and education

Andrea Petro Herrán was born in Bogotá, D.C., on March 29, 1991. She is the eldest daughter of Gustavo Petro and Mary Luz Herrán. Petro has an older brother, Andrés.[4][5] She has two daughters, Luna and Victoria, with her former partner, Julien. Petro would later describe how difficult it was for her to be a single mother. She suffered complications during her second pregnancy.

Like the rest of her siblings, she attended the Lycée Français Louis Pasteur. Later, she moved to Belgium, where she spent most of her adolescence. Her time in Brussels, Belgium allowed her to learn French, Dutch, and German. She attended University of Aix-Marseille III, where she earned a degree in economics and later a master's degree in International Trade Management.

In 2022, after the presidential election, she returned to Colombia to participate in her father's presidential inauguration. From there, she became active on social media platforms like X and Instagram, where she dedicated herself to defending her father and criticizing those who harassed him. In 2023, she founded her own company, Bachué Sportswear, establishing it as one of the leaders in sustainable sportswear in the country.
