Miracle Decrees in Causes of Saints (2000–2026) is an evidence-bounded register of all 408 miracle-decree acts recovered from the Holy See Press Office archive for 2000–2012 and the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints' annual online archive for 2013–2026.[1][2]
Scope of the register
For 2000–2012, the audit enumerates all 156 expected monthly Press Office indexes and scans every decree or miracle near-title bulletin within its published rule, yielding 257 records. For 2013–2026, every miracle-decree authorization paragraph in the Dicastery's sitemap-listed annual pages appears once, yielding 151 more records, including the separately worded Pier Giorgio Frassati authorization of 25 November 2024.[1][2]
This is complete coverage within those two reproducible official web-archive boundaries, not a claim that only these miracles have ever been recognized in causes of saints. The Holy See does not provide a single all-time online register covering every historical cause. Pre-2000 acts, any generically titled bulletin outside the enumerated rule, later additions, and fuller case documentation require their own authoritative source audits.[1][2]
What each record proves
Each record proves either that the pope authorized the competent Roman dicastery to promulgate a miracle decree or, in the earlier Press Office wording, that the decree was formally promulgated in the pope's presence. The article preserves the intercessor's status on that date and distinguishes the decree act from any later beatification or canonization ceremony.[1][2]
The public record ordinarily does not identify the beneficiary, diagnosis, treatment, or cure date. Those facts are therefore absent from these entries unless a separate competent source is later added. Exact limitation is part of accuracy: it prevents both downgrading a formal decree into rumor and manufacturing clinical detail that the cited public act does not contain.[1][2]
Catholic and canonical context
Causes of beatification and canonization examine holiness, martyrdom or the offering of life, reputation for sanctity, and—in causes that require one—the alleged miracle through prescribed diocesan and Roman stages. Medical experts address medical evidence; theologians examine attribution to intercession; the Dicastery and the pope exercise their proper ecclesiastical competence.[3][4]
Recognition of a miracle in a cause is a positive judgment about a historical event. It is not itself a proposition of dogma, an addition to Public Revelation, or a substitute for the pope's act of beatification or canonization. The miracle is God's work; attribution to an intercessor affirms heavenly prayer without confusing a creature's intercession with Christ's unique mediation.[3][4]
Individual decree records
The decrees are grouped by the annual archive page in which each authorization was published.[1][2]
