Catholicism Wiki uses account-based editing and attributable revision history. Anonymous editing is disabled. Readers may create an account through MediaWiki's registration form; new accounts can edit immediately and receive upload rights after becoming autoconfirmed.

Needed contributions

Contributors can define outlines, assemble source lists, identify coverage gaps, review terminology, and test articles for clarity. Expertise in theology, Scripture, history, canon law, liturgy, art, archival work, pastoral ministry, and copy editing is especially useful.

A good first contribution

1. Choose a narrowly defined topic supported by reliable sources.
2. Write a lead that says what the subject is and why it matters.
3. Build a clear outline within the encyclopedia's Catholic point of view.
4. Cite primary authorities and distinguish them from commentary.
5. Apply authority and evidence flags precisely.
6. Connect the page to categories and neighboring topics.

Editorial posture

Contributors write from the Catholic faith, not religious neutrality. Doctrine is presented affirmatively, legitimate Catholic diversity is represented accurately, and propositions are identified plainly as dogma, definitive doctrine, authoritative teaching, heresy, error, discipline, theological opinion, devotion, or historical judgment where relevant.

The ordinary editorial presumption is traditional and conservative while obedient to the living Magisterium and lawful hierarchy. Catholicism Wiki is neither a vehicle for liberal doctrinal revision nor an SSPX or sedevacantist project. Contempt for persons is never acceptable.
